I had the great honour spending a morning with Lloyd Rees at his home in Lane Cove in Sydney in the late 1970’s. Apart from enjoying morning tea with him and his wife, I was able to sketch him in his studio and photograph him in his garden. This portrait is my favourite work from the series of drawings and paintings that followed that wonderful and humbling day.
